High Carbon Ferro Manganese Powder always occurs in two appearences, lump and podwer. Lump is used in steel industry. Powder is used in welding industry. Mn - 70-75%. Ferro manganese is used mainly to counteract the bad effects of sulfur. Mn - 70-75%. Ferro manganese is an alloy of iron and manganese containing usually about 80% manganese. It also acts as a deoxidizer and combines with sulfur, thereby improving the hot-working properties of the product. It is used in the manufacture of steel and to a lesser extent other metal alloys. P - 0.4% max. S- 0.03% max. It imparts metallurgical properties such as increased strength, hardness toughness and hardenability.
Si - 1.5% max. C - 6-8%.
